Vice chancellor seat vacant at Abdul Wali Khan College since a month

PESHAWAR: The seat for a vice chancellor at Mardan’s Abdul Wali Khan College has been mendacity vacant since final month, sources throughout the Ministry of Larger Training revealed on Sunday.

In response to the sources, 25 candidates have been shortlisted for the place out of 40 candidates in whole.

Three finalists are to be chosen from the shortlisted candidates, names of whom will probably be submitted to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khattak for approval. A brand new vice chancellor for the college is predicted to be appointed this month, the sources added.

Abdul Wali Khan College in Mardan made headlines earlier this week when Mashal Khan, a journalism pupil on the college, was lynched by an enraged mob on April 13 in his campus dorm room over blasphemy allegations. 5 others have been injured within the firing and vandalism by the violent mob.

Following the horrific killing, the campus was shut down for an indefinite interval. The absence of a vice chancellor has been inflicting hindrances in finishing up the authorized and administrative formalities, some sources acquainted with the matter stated.
